THE KINGDOM REQUIRES YOUR HEART AND MIND
(PART 2)
HOW DO WE BEGIN TO DESIRE THE KINGDOM?
If the Kingdom desires a shift in our heart and mind before we can gain access to more revelations, how do we begin?
Jesus had various expressions which He used to describe renewal or change of heart and mind. In one occasion, when the disciples asked a question about who was the greatest in the Kingdom of God, He told them;
“Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven”.
(Matthew 18:3 (NKJV)).
This statement means before you get into the Kingdom, you need to be in the state of childlikeness. What does Jesus mean by this? To understand this, we need to look at the characteristics of a child or children.
- Humility: Letting go of pride, envy, and the desire for status or preeminence, as children don't grasp worldly power struggles.
- Trust & Dependence: Relying on God as a child relies on a parent, having simple faith and acknowledging need.
- Repentance & Change: A fundamental "turning" from self-centred ways to a new way of thinking and living.
- Simplicity: Approaching faith with awe and wonder, rather than complex worldly expectations.
These form the basics to your search for deeper revelation.
Pastor Paul said in his exposition on Matthew 6:33 that, the problem of this generation is how to “seek”. We have all the tools that should encourage us and give us the enthusiasm to seek, but those tools and mediums have become an enemy and destruction to us. What do I mean by this? You have YouTube and other Social Media platforms, what do you use them for? Many of us can sit for hours flipping funny clips and videos. But will never watch a preaching for even 5 mins. Tell me, how do you expect to grow in your faith? Romans 10:17 (ESV): “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ”.
Shalom and Peace to you.
