Fasting is Seeding the Clouds for Future Generations
I Kings 18:41-45
In today’s sermon, Pastor Franklin, encourages us that when we fast, pray, and worship, we are sowing seeds for what we want to see God do tomorrow. He calls it “Seed the clouds for future generations”. I was personally encouraged by the message because it reminded me about the bold prayers I prayed some years back which has brought me here today. Those who know me personally can testify about my love and desire for God and service in God’s house. Even at places where I worked, I encouraged colleagues and also brought Christians together for us to have small devotions in the mornings before work started. These were visions God gave me to encourage His people to fight challenges around them through prayers and not demonstrations, strikes or talking against management.
Like the story of Jeremiah, I got into trouble in my last company because God put a burden on me to send a warning message to all the staff of the company. The message was seen by some top-level Management as negative to incite staffs against Management. Pressure mounted, but God raise a defence for me by using my Manager, who was barely new in our country office. That Man of God loved me the first time he saw me, and we worked together very well. He became my father in the company, and he saw it within my Spirit I loved God. To make my story short, I want you to know God’s word never fails. God mounted pressure on the company when many staffs kept resigning, even including top-level management, until management did what was right for the staff by increasing their salary to match industry standard.
Today, staffs are enjoying a better salary because a seed was sown. Friends, family members and some people who have no idea about spiritual matters thought I was crazy and criticized me wrongly, but God vindicated me. I can share testimony after testimony of what God keeps doing every year that I went on a fast. But because of time, let us listen to this encouraging message from Pastor Franklin. Brethren, if this message doesn’t cut you to the core, I don’t know which message that can inspire you again. Listen until he is done, listen to it again and again today and allow God to speak to you.
Shalom and Peace to you.
