“I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel.”
Philippians 1:12 (ESV)
Brethren, many of us like to enjoy all the good side of our Christianity and have the notion that afflictions are a curse. Nobody enjoys going through afflictions upon afflictions, and nobody goes about looking for trouble to bear. We all want to have a trouble-free life. However, note that once you become a born-again Christian, you have signed up for a life of affliction as well. I believe you have heard of this statement before “No cross, no crow”. If you want to confirm whether afflictions are part of Christian life, read the story of Abraham, Moses, Job, David, Paul and others from your bible. In today’s reflection, David Wilkerson gives us an insightful message on why we shouldn’t waste our afflictions when they come our way. I pray that the Holy Spirit will press this message down to encourage all who are in afflictions to rejoice in God and for us who have a different perception about afflictions, we will gain a fresh understanding. Let us listen.
Shalom and Peace to you.
